Skills

• Advanced university degree preferably Ph.D in Statistics or Economics
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of statistics
• National and international economic and management skills
• Minimum 20 years' experience, with at least 5 years in senior management
• Experience managing large databases and national statistical surveys
• Proven leadership and research record in social & economic issues
• Statistical Data Analysis expertise
• Knowledge of computer-based data analysis and advanced software

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau
• Oversee the collection, processing, and compilation of statistical data
• Supervise national census operations through Provincial Census Commissioners
• Appraise the quality of all national statistics
• Ensure coordination with other statistical agencies and bodies
• Promote and maintain strong analytical and research capacity within the Bureau
• Prepare annual work plans, five-year work plans, and budgets
• Develop national statistical standards and promote standardization
