Skills

• Provide psychological counseling to DR-TB and drug-susceptible TB patients
• Reinforce treatment adherence
• Conduct intake and follow-up counseling sessions

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide psychological counseling to DR-TB and drug-susceptible TB patients five days a week, aligning advice with WHO and NTP guidelines
• Reinforce treatment adherence without altering regimens unless formally discussed and approved by the Clinical Team Lead
• Conduct intake counseling for all DR-TB patients at enrollment and provide structured follow-up counseling at least bi-monthly
• Lead focused group discussions (FGDs) with smear- and culture-negative patients to address psychosocial barriers and promote adherence
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all counseled patients, ensuring strict data confidentiality and ethical standards
• Identify patients requiring psychiatric care and coordinate referrals for hospitalization when necessary
• Promptly report any behavioral, emotional, or treatment-related concerns to the program, clinical, and field teams
• Contribute to the development of standardized tools for monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of counseling services
• Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols during all patient interactions and counseling sessions
• Perform any other assigned tasks by management as per need
