Registrar - Critical Care Medicine Opportunity at Indus Hospital
Indus Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Registrar to join its esteemed Critical Care Medicine department. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive management of critically ill patients within the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Medical High Dependency Unit (MHDU). Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive management for all MICU and MHDU patients
- Oversee airway management, ventilation, sedation, and vasopressor use in MICU
- Manage NIV, intubation, and airway support in MHDU and MICU
- Perform central lines, arterial lines, and lumbar punctures in MICU and MHDU
- Act as Team Lead for emergencies and the Rapid Response Team
- Utilize point-of-care ultrasound for fluid balance management in MICU
- Serve as a shift supervisor in the absence of senior staff
- Maintain effective communication with hospital staff and medical officers
- Stay updated through CME, deliver education to staff, and participate in research
- Conduct monthly clinical and non-clinical meetings and presentations
- Coordinate care between primary teams, ER, and administration
- Counsel patients and their families regarding critical care
- Conduct daily patient assessments and rounds with consultants, documenting in HMIS
- Adhere to IHHN CPGs and SOPs for infection control and invasive procedures
- Ensure proper handover of patient care to the next shift registrar
- Manage transportation and care of critically ill patients to other departments
