Skills

• Proficiency in preparing laboratory media, reagents, and stains
• Ability to analyze laboratory findings accurately
• Experience in conducting parasitological and serological analysis of urine and blood
• Skill in checking the accuracy of laboratory results
• Competence in processing routine microbiological samples and antibiotic susceptibility testing
• Capability in basic microbiology reporting of routine cultures
• Expertise in calibrating and operating microbiology laboratory instruments
• Proficiency in running daily quality controls and EQA
• Ability to inform relevant doctors/consultants of abnormal results
• Knowledge of sample retention procedures according to SOPs
• Skill in instructing and training junior staff and trainees
• Ability to issue laboratory reports
• Understanding of test rejection criteria
• Knowledge of sample rejection criteria as per SOPs
• Ability to repeat tests when required
• Experience in daily consumption of inventory

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare all kinds of media, reagents, and stains for laboratory analysis
• Analyze laboratory findings to provide accurate diagnostic information
• Conduct parasitological and serological analysis of urine and blood samples
• Verify the accuracy of laboratory results before reporting
• Process all routine microbiological samples and perform antibiotic susceptibility testing
• Generate basic microbiology reports for all routine cultures
• Calibrate and operate all instruments within the microbiology laboratory
• Run daily quality controls and participate in External Quality Assurance (EQA)
• Inform relevant doctors and consultants about any abnormal test results
• Retain all types of samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Instruct and train junior staff and trainees in laboratory techniques
• Issue accurate and timely laboratory reports
• Reject tests when necessary based on predefined criteria
• Reject samples on specific criteria prescribed in SOPs
• Perform test repetitions if required
• Manage and track the daily consumption of laboratory inventory
