• Work within the scope of experience and competence
• Highlight consultant orders verbally and in writing
• Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during duty hours
• Work in conjunction with other MOs to provide 24-hour service
• Evaluate admitted patients by taking complete history and performing physical examination
• Document patient information in HMIS
• Undertake daily ward rounds, documenting patient progress in HMIS
• Seek advice from senior team members for patient health concerns
• Receive handover reports and attend ward areas promptly
• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
• Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries as per competency
• Assess and manage patients in the ER
• Liaise with nursing staff regularly regarding patient progress
• Discuss medication on discharge with patients and write discharge summaries
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient medical information
• Provide urgent medical attention to staff or visitors in case of accident or sudden illness
• Remain on hospital premises whilst on duty
• Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety
• Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and families
