Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in assigned units like OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty areas
  • Formulate a diagnosis based on patient history, physical examination, and diagnostic test results
  • Develop and execute treatment plans under the guidance of a Consultant
  • Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training and granted credentials
  • Participate actively in ward rounds and case discussions, ensuring prompt and accurate patient record-keeping
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies and code blue situations, escalating complex cases to Consultants promptly
  • Provide on-call support as per the allocated duty roster
  • Stabilize patients and manage referrals when necessary
  • Collaborate with nursing and allied health professionals for holistic patient care and treatment continuity
  • Counsel patients and their families, obtaining necessary informed consent for treatments
  • Monitor patient conditions and adjust treatments as their health evolves
  • Ensure efficient allocation of time and resources for all patient care processes
  • Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital Clinical Guidelines and SOPs
  • Participate in clinical audits and morbidity/mortality meetings as directed
  • Strictly follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to enhance care quality and improve patient experience
  • Ensure all patient care complies with IHHN, provincial, and national regulatory standards
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and attendants both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Uphold respect for the dignity, cultural, religious, and social sensitivities of patients
  • Engage in Continuous Medical Education (CME), research initiatives, and case presentations for professional development
