Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adopt a professional approach with all patients, staff, and visitors
• Work within your level of experience and competence, communicating consultant orders clearly
• Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, ensuring 24-hour service
• Evaluate admitted patients by taking history, performing examinations, and documenting in HMIS
• Undertake daily ward rounds, documenting patient progress and events
• Seek advice from senior team members on patient health matters
• Receive handover reports and attend ward areas promptly
• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
• Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries as per competency
• Assess and manage patients in the Emergency Room
• Undertake medical procedures within your competence level
• Liaise regularly with nursing staff to check patient progress
• Discuss medication with patients upon discharge and write discharge summaries
• Maintain the confidentiality of all patient medical information
• Provide urgent medical attention for staff or visitors in case of accidents
• Remain on hospital premises whilst on duty and ensure continuous cover
• Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, including Health and Safety
• Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and families
