Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate politely with patients
• Check and document patient vital signs including saturation in HMIS
• Ensure documentation of patient height and weight during filter clinic consultations
• Assist with appointments and token systems as needed
• Report any reduction in departmental stock levels to nursing staff
• Check daily cleanliness of the department and report issues to the registered nurse in charge
• Change bed sheets of clinic stretchers
• Transfer and accompany patients to other departments for treatment under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Show the highest regard and respect for patient wishes, needs, and lifestyles, being accepting and non-judgmental
• Discuss any difficulties with senior nursing staff
• Learn to use information systems and maintain accurate written information
• Report any concerns or untoward incidents immediately to the registered nurses on duty
• Maintain awareness of the patient's and family's need for emotional support and understanding
