Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure general cleanliness of the ward and sanitary annexure, coordinating housekeeping staff
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration, and storage procedures
• Conduct orientations and mentor new nursing staff on hospital policies, protocols, and SOPs
• Identify and highlight training needs of existing and new staff members to the Supervisor
• Ensure all documents, patient information, equipment, and supplies are correctly handed over during shift changes
• Cover for the Ward Incharge/Team Lead and act as Ward Incharge in case of absence
• Oversee all nursing care activities in the assigned unit during duty hours and ensure patient comfort
• Provide direct patient care to admitted patients as needed
• Participate in rounds with management and ensure all orders are noted and carried out
• Continuously observe patient progress and report changes to RMOs
• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of vital signs, medication administration, and intake/output
• Ensure the administration of medications is carried out according to standing instructions
• Supervise preparation of patients for operative procedures
• Assist residents/consultants in various medical and surgical procedures
• Carry out admission and discharge procedures of patients and maintain records
• Ensure the collection and sending of specimens to the laboratory for testing
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the management
