Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with pharmacists to ensure proper handover protocols are followed
  • Provide daily reports to the Assistant Manager/ Manager of Pharmacy Services
  • Supervise unit-dose drug dispensation and distribution
  • Ensure patients’ profiles and CPOE are reviewed to prevent drug interactions and promote rational drug use
  • Contact the physician for inaccuracy of order / non-availability of medicine, providing the Clinical Pharmacist with relevant documentation
  • Ensure requisitions are issued and filled accurately
  • Ensure prompt delivery of unit-dose medications to the Nursing unit
  • Monitor and manage inventory stock levels, suggesting changes if necessary
  • Prepare and forward requisitions to the Pharmacy store as required
  • Receive goods from the Pharmacy store, physically check and shelve stock in the proper location at the specified temperature
  • Provide current and accurate drug information to all health care professionals when required
  • Maintain records of drug information provided according to specified protocols for record keeping
  • Provide monthly reports to the Assistant / Manager, Pharmacy/ Clinical Pharmacist of all stock, detailing fast-moving/slow-moving/short expiry / expired/broken, damaged items
  • Arrange inspection of nursing units and clinics each month and monitor the proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs and emergency medications
  • Provide technical and administrative support and conduct relevant staff training
  • Ensure high-alert medications are labelled, and ensure all related precautions and information are provided for proper administration
  • Prepare and present on various topics for CMEs
  • Document and provide management (Pharmacist / AM / Manager) with details of all interventions, drug information and related relevant information
  • Ensure temperatures are monitored and all related documentation is accurately maintained
  • Provide management with regular updates and monthly KPI reports
  • Perform all related tasks assigned by the Manager / Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Services
