Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handover and takeover incoming/outgoing shift unit/ward information
- Provide direct patient care throughout the shift
- Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
- Resolve patient problems and needs utilizing multi-disciplinary team strategies
- Prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
- Maintain safe and clean working environment
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies & protocols
- Facilitate doctors/consultants on their rounds and record instructions
- Assist doctors with any procedure they may need to perform
- Prepare patient physically and emotionally for procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care
- Carry out doctors’ orders as prescribed
- Ensure unit/ward medical supply requirements are well stocked
- Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
- Perform IV cannulation of patients
- Perform delegated patient & non-patient related tasks
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department
