- Resolve patient problems and needs through multidisciplinary team strategies
- Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications accurately
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and medication safety regulations
- Facilitate doctors' rounds and record instructions
- Assist doctors with procedures, preparing patients physically and emotionally
- Carry out doctors' orders and question any concerns with prescribed treatment
- Ensure medical supply requirements are well stocked and readily available
- Check and record blood sugar levels
- Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
- Check and record vital signs, especially for pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Perform IV cannulations following the Clinical IPPs policy manual
- Notify and report incidents related to patients, staff, or visitors in a timely manner
- Supervise Nurse Aids and Student Nurses
