- Hand over and take over patient information during shift changes
- Provide direct patient care with courtesy and tact

- Resolve patient problems using multi-disciplinary team strategies
- Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols
- Facilitate doctors during rounds and record instructions
- Assist doctors with necessary procedures
- Prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care
- Carry out doctors' orders and question any concerns
- Ensure medical supply requirements are well-stocked
- Check and record blood sugar levels
- Draw blood and perform other lab procedures
- Check and record vital signs, especially for pre- and post-operative patients
- Perform IV cannulation following established policies
- Report patient and staff incidents in a timely manner
- Supervise Nurse Aids and Student Nurses
- Perform delegated patient and non-patient related tasks
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of Department
