Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handover and takeover patient information during shift changes
• Provide direct patient care throughout the shift
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
• Resolve patient problems and needs using team strategies
• Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control protocols
• Facilitate doctors and consultants during rounds
• Assist doctors with procedures and prepare patients emotionally and physically
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care
• Carry out doctors' orders and question any concerns
• Ensure medical supply requirements are well-stocked and readily available
• Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
• Perform IV cannulation following policy
• Perform delegated patient and non-patient related tasks
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
