Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handover and takeover of patient information, including files, medication charts, and reports
• Provide direct patient care in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring patient care goals
• Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multi-disciplinary team strategies
• Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration, and storage procedures
• Facilitate doctors and consultants on rounds and record their instructions
• Assist doctors with procedures, preparing patients physically and emotionally, and ensuring equipment availability
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care using correct charting techniques as per SOPs
• Carry out doctors' orders as prescribed and question any concerns with prescribed treatment
• Ensure the unit/ward medical supply requirements are well-stocked, properly stored, and readily available
• Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
• Perform IV cannulation of patients, following the Clinical IPPs policy manual
• Perform delegated patient and non-patient related tasks as directed by the Ward In-charge or Nursing Coordinator
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department
