Skills

  • Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, and small parts studies under supervision
  • Ensure accurate image acquisition and documentation of preliminary reports
  • Assist in ultrasound-guided procedures (FNAC, Biopsies, collection drainage) when required
  • Identify and promptly report critical findings to the radiologist
  • Maintain critical alerts record register as per policy
  • Confirm patient identity, clinical history, and informed consent
  • Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy during procedures
  • Maintain imaging quality standards and compliance with protocols
  • Conduct routine checks of ultrasound equipment and report faults
  • Support standardization of ultrasound practices across the department
  • Maintain logs, workload statistics, and performance records
  • Assist in development and review of ultrasound SOPs and protocols
  • Coordinate with radiologists and clinical teams for smooth workflow
  • Support departmental planning and service enhancement initiatives
  • Upload images, edit, and manage reports in the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Maintain appropriate records and statistics, monitor KPIs and implement improvement measures
  • Manage and maintain inventory items (tissue roll, Gel, Ball points etc) used in the department
  • Comply with institutional policies, departmental SoP's, and accreditation standards
  • Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality, infection control, safety, data protection, and ethical standards
  • Perform any other assigned task commensurate with knowledge and skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations accurately and efficiently
  • Document preliminary findings for radiologist review
  • Provide assistance during interventional ultrasound procedures
  • Communicate critical findings promptly to the supervising radiologist
  • Maintain departmental records and adhere to established policies
  • Ensure patient comfort and privacy throughout examinations
  • Uphold high standards of imaging quality and protocol compliance
  • Manage and report equipment faults to the biomedical department
  • Contribute to the standardization of ultrasound practices
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assist in the creation and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Facilitate effective communication between clinical teams
  • Support initiatives for service improvement and departmental planning
  • Manage patient data and reports within the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Oversee and manage departmental inventory of consumables
