AI/ML Engineer – Intermediate

About the Role:
We are looking for an Intermediate AI/ML Engineer to join our R&D team. The role involves developing, training, testing, and improving machine-learning models for a real-world software and hardware-based system.

You will work closely with software engineers to prepare data, develop ML models, evaluate their performance, and integrate the models into an existing software platform.

This is a hands-on R&D position and is suitable for someone who enjoys experimentation, problem-solving, and working with real-world data.

Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, organize, and prepare datasets for machine-learning tasks.
Develop and train machine-learning and deep-learning models.
Experiment with different model architectures and approaches.
Use Python and Keras/TensorFlow for model development and training.
Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and validation methods.
Identify data-quality and model-performance issues and improve models iteratively.
Perform data preprocessing and feature engineering where required.
Work with real-world sensor/device data.
Integrate trained models into existing software systems.
Support model inference and performance optimization.
Test models using real-world test data and different operating conditions.
Maintain proper documentation of datasets, experiments, model versions, and results.
Work closely with software developers during integration and testing.
Troubleshoot and improve ML-related issues during development and deployment.

Required Qualifications:
Professional experience in Machine Learning / AI development.
Strong programming skills in Python.
Practical experience with Keras and TensorFlow.
Good understanding of machine-learning and deep-learning concepts.
Experience with data preprocessing, model training, validation, and evaluation.
Experience working with real-world or noisy datasets.
Good understanding of model performance metrics.
Familiarity with Git and standard software development practices.
Ability to independently research, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with Computer Vision.
Experience working with sensor, time-series, or device-generated data.
Experience with classification, detection, prediction, or behavioral analysis models.
Familiarity with CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers, or other deep-learning architectures.
Experience deploying ML models into software applications.
Familiarity with model optimization and inference performance.
Experience working in an R&D environment.

What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the ML side of a project, rather than someone who only knows how to train models using prepared datasets.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with:

Data → Preprocessing → Model Development → Training → Evaluation → Iteration → Integration

You should be able to investigate problems independently and make practical technical decisions when the exact solution is not already defined.

Work Location:
This is an on-site position (Contonment Mall - Karachi, Pakistan).
The selected candidate will be required to work from the company's office and collaborate directly with the development team.
