Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine kitchen refrigerators and freezers daily for leftover food and record this data accurately
• Report any spoiled or questionable food items to the duty supervisor immediately
• Ensure safe pre-processing, preparation, and production of patient and non-patient meals according to the menu cycle
• Prepare patient short orders, breakfast, and grill items according to assigned duties and menu
• Prepare sundry food items such as soups, sandwiches, salads, and vegetables as directed
• Collect and assemble food ingredients from the store for various meal preparations
• Ensure timely production of inpatient and non-patient food in the correct portions
• Prepare food according to standardized recipes, minimizing food waste during and after cooking
• Maintain a clean kitchen environment by practicing 'clean as you go' principles
• Verify the safety and quality of perishable and non-perishable food supplies
• Uphold continuous cleaning, hygiene, and sanitation of all kitchen areas
• Mandatory adherence to dress code, including caps, beard nets, gloves, and aprons
• Assist food service helpers with tasks such as cleaning vegetables and peeling
• Aid in transporting food to staff dining areas or other designated locations
• Record end-of-shift leftover food details in the system and physically hand over to the next shift cook
