Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper handing-over and taking-over of Pharmacy charge
• Dispense and distribute medications, reviewing patient profiles and CPOE systems
• Prevent drug interactions and promote rational drug use
• Contact prescribing physicians for medication order discrepancies and document interventions
• Process Non-Formulary Item (NFI) requests when necessary
• Ensure prompt processing and delivery of medication orders to nursing units
• Monitor inventory stock levels and assist in managing requisitions
• Receive goods from the warehouse, verifying batch numbers, expiry dates, and packaging integrity
• Ensure appropriate storage of medications, including light-sensitive, cytotoxic, and high alert drugs
• Maintain temperature monitoring and related documentation for pharmaceutical refrigerators
• Conduct bedside visits for direct patient care and drug utilization reviews in ER
• Review requisitions for correct drug, dose, frequency, dosage form, and route of administration
• Adhere to sterile area Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols
• Prepare and supply baskets for requested surgeries in OR Pharmacy
• Maintain and document temperature, humidity, and pressure differentials in sterile areas
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and maintain records
• Complete KPI and stock cover sheets during each shift
