Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty units
• Propose a diagnosis based on history, examination, laboratory and imaging data
• Develop and implement treatment plans under Consultant supervision
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of training, specialty and credentialing limits
• Participate in ward rounds and case discussions; ensure timely and accurate patient documentation
• Respond to medical emergencies and code blue situations, escalate complex cases to Consultants
• Provide on-call coverage as per duty roster
• Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals when required
• Coordinate with nursing and allied health teams for patient care and continuity of treatment
• Counsel patients and their families and obtain informed consent for treatment
• Monitor patients' progress and modify treatments as their conditions evolve
• Ensure allocation of appropriate time and resources for all patient care processes and procedures
• Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence with hospital clinical guidelines and SOPs
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Engage with other teams to facilitate high quality care and improve patient experience
• Ensure all patient care is delivered in compliance with IHHN, provincial and national regulatory standards
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients and attendants
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients
• Ensures the respect for dignity; cultural, religious and social sensitivities of patients
• Participate in CME, research initiatives and case presentations for capacity building
• Receive ongoing training to maintain essential certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, ATLS)
• Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and strives for own professional development
