Skills

• Excellent ability to read mechanical technical drawings, including dimensions, geometric tolerances, and surface roughness
• Profound knowledge of manual milling machine operation (vertical and/or horizontal)
• Familiarity with metallic materials and their processing parameters
• Understanding of cutting tools, milling cutters, drills, and reamers, and selection criteria
• Proficiency in setting cutting speeds, feed rates, and pass depths
• Skill in using measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, comparators, scribers, bore gauges, protractors
• Ability to center and align workpieces and use dividing heads

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and machining cycles
• Set up and fine-tune manual milling machines
• Select and mount tools, milling cutters, vices, and clamping equipment
• Set cutting parameters
• Perform milling operations on single pieces and small series (e.g., facing, contouring, grooving, drilling, boring)
• Perform dimensional checks on workpieces during and after machining
• Ensure compliance with dimensional, tolerance, and surface finish specifications
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain the workstation
• Adhere to workplace safety regulations
