Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise, care, and advise women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Conduct deliveries independently at the facility and community level. Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth. Provide primary care to women of reproductive age. Provide essential newborn care. Counsel and educate women, the family, and the community. Provide all non‐surgical methods of family planning and counseling for surgical methods. Obtain specialized assistance as necessary (consultation or referral). Share knowledge, skill, and expertise with midwifery, medical and nursing students. Perform administrative duties, patient charting, recording, and reporting of data. Participate in research, professional organizations, and related committees. Follow established health center policies, procedures and objectives.
