Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure adequate inventory maintenance and adherence to protocols during shift changes, under the supervision of the shift Incharge Pharmacist
  • Maintain all pharmacy records and relevant documentation accurately
  • Under pharmacist supervision, accurately fill patient requisitions according to issued orders and patient drug profiles
  • Ensure unit-dose medications are packed, labeled, and promptly delivered to inpatient units
  • Monitor collected empty vials, ampoules, and packs, updating pharmacy inventory by issuing requisitions on the HMIS
  • Maintain and monitor adequate inventory stock levels and prepare requisitions for necessary items
  • Receive goods from the pharmacy store, ensuring all stock is stored at the correct location and temperature, adhering to the FEFO (First Expired, First Out) method
  • Maintain records of all pharmacy-related documentation and provide assistance to the Pharmacy Assistant when needed
  • Provide dispensed drugs to nursing stations in the absence of the Pharmacy Assistant
  • Maintain records of all stock, detailing fast-moving, slow-moving, short-expiry, expired, broken, and damaged items
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to ensure temperature, light, and cleanliness standards are met within the pharmacy
  • Assist the Pharmacist in conducting regular stock audits
