Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty units
• Propose diagnoses based on patient history, examination, and diagnostic data
• Develop and implement treatment plans under Consultant supervision
• Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training and credentialing
• Participate in ward rounds and case discussions, ensuring accurate patient documentation
• Respond to medical emergencies and code blue situations
• Escalate complex cases to Consultants appropriately
• Provide on-call coverage as per the duty roster
• Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals when required
• Coordinate patient care with nursing and allied health teams for continuity of treatment
• Counsel patients and their families, obtaining informed consent for treatment
• Monitor patients’ progress and modify treatment plans as their conditions evolve
• Ensure the allocation of appropriate time and resources for all patient care processes
• Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital clinical guidelines and SOPs
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity, and mortality meetings
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Engage with other teams to facilitate high-quality care and improve patient experience
• Ensure all patient care is delivered in compliance with IHHN, provincial, and national standards
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and attendants
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients
• Ensure respect for the dignity, cultural, religious, and social sensitivities of patients
• Participate in CME, research initiatives, and case presentations for capacity building
• Receive ongoing training to maintain essential certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, ATLS)
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional growth
• Perform all tasks assigned by the Head of Department that are commensurate with knowledge and skills
