  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies & protocols
  • Facilitate doctors/consultants on their rounds in the unit/ward and recording instructions
  • Assist doctors with any procedure they may need to perform, preparing patients physically and emotionally
  • Carry out doctors’ orders as prescribed, and question any concerns with prescribed treatment
  • Ensure the unit/ward medical supply requirements are well stocked, properly stored, and readily available
  • Check and record blood sugar
  • Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
  • Check and record vital signs, particularly of pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Perform IV cannulations of patients, following Clinical IPPs policy manual
  • Notify/reporting incidents related to patients, staff, visitors, and any untoward occurrences in a timely manner
  • Supervise Nurse Aids, Student Nurses, etc
