Skills

• Valid PMDC registration
• BLS/ACLS certification
• Experience in critical care unit with ventilator management
• Skill in airway management and intubation
• Skill in inserting central lines and/or arterial lines
• Ability to supervise medical officers and nursing staff
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Proficiency in patient counseling and consent taking
• Adherence to hospital SOPs and infection control measures

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned patients in the Critical Care Medicine Department (MICU/HDU) in shifts
• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients, including history taking and detailed examination
• Implement treatment plans discussed with registrars/consultants in a timely manner
• Document patient information accurately in the HMIS
• Request and expedite blood investigations and imaging reports
• Take urgent appropriate action on consultation with the registrar/consultant on call
• Independently insert central lines and arterial lines
• Perform intubation and maintain airways under supervision
• Supervise medical officers and nursing staff as needed
• Attend and present patient cases during daily rounds
• Coordinate with different specialties regarding patient care and provide timely updates
• Manage emergencies effectively and communicate with on-call personnel
• Strictly follow Critical Care Medicine department and Indus Hospital SOPs
• Properly hand over patient care to the next shift doctor
• Counsel patients and their next of kin, obtain consent, and respect patient rights
• Update patient status if condition deteriorates
• Adhere to Indus Hospital dress code, rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Continuously improve knowledge and skills through CME sessions and workshops
