Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical checks of unit inventory and report discrepancies
• Ensure timely bed-to-bed handover with thorough documentation
• Assess patients for required care, pain, risks, and provide education
• Evaluate patient condition post-intervention and review care plans
• Involve the multidisciplinary team for consultations when needed
• Manage general consumption of patient supplies and medications
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Adhere to infection control and medication safety protocols
• Maintain patient privacy during care and examinations
• Uphold patient record confidentiality
• Accompany physicians during rounds and document orders
• Assist doctors with procedures, ensuring patient preparation and privacy
• Prepare patients for surgery as per pre-operative orders
• Follow post-operative orders and monitor patient vital signs
• Report incidents or near misses related to patient or staff safety
• Guide junior staff, nurses' aids, and students on hospital policies
