Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handover and take over shift information including patient files and medication charts
• Provide direct patient care throughout the shift
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
• Resolve patient problems using multi-disciplinary strategies
• Prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Adhere to infection-control policies and medication procedures
• Facilitate doctors' rounds and record instructions
• Assist doctors with any procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation
• Carry out doctors' orders and address treatment concerns
• Ensure unit/ward medical supply requirements are well-stocked
• Check and record blood sugar
• Draw blood and perform other lab procedures
• Check and record vital signs
• Perform IV cannulation
• Report incidents in a timely manner
• Supervise Nurse Aids and Student Nurses
• Perform delegated tasks as directed by the ward incharge
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
