Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for patient handover and takeover, including patient files, medication charts, and investigation reports
• Provide direct patient care throughout the shift in a calm and courteous manner
• Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring health outcomes
• Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multi-disciplinary team strategies
• Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications accurately
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and medication administration procedures
• Facilitate doctors and consultants during rounds and record their instructions
• Assist doctors with any required procedures, preparing patients physically and emotionally
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care using correct charting techniques
• Carry out doctors' orders and question any concerns with prescribed treatment
• Ensure medical supply requirements for the unit/ward are well-stocked and readily available
• Perform IV cannulation of patients following the Clinical IPPs policy manual
• Perform delegated patient and non-patient related tasks as directed by the Ward In-charge or Nursing Coordinator
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department
