- Patient Care: Provide diagnoses, counsel patients, and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Clinical Governance: Maintain service delivery and implement quality control protocols.
- Teaching and Training: Lead training programs, guide colleagues, and participate in research.
Skills
- Propose a diagnosis based on history, examination, laboratory and imaging data
- Counsel the patients and their families and obtain informed consent for any invasive diagnostic procedure
- Ensure that teams deliver patientcare according to the agreed plan
- Perform procedures within limits of credentialing granted by the IHHN
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of the patients
- Advise clinical colleagues regarding appropriate laboratory resource utilization
- Remain conversant with latest laboratory techniques regarding national and international guidelines in clinical laboratory practices
- Ensures the respect for dignity; cultural, religious and social sensitivities of the patients
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures efficient and reliable service delivery
- Conduct clinical audits and implement the solutions for improvement based on the gained from audits
- Implement & monitor the quality control, quality assurance protocols, and record-keeping procedures which constitute good laboratory practice, and which comply with regulations imposed by regulatory bodies such as JCIA or CAP, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) ISO-15189, & Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC)
- Lead and participates in the training activities for capacity building of the workforce
- Contribute to the developing and implementing a structured training program
- Guide and facilitate the colleagues in seeking knowledge and skills
- Perform workplace-based assessment and provides feedback to trainees
- Lead and participate in research initiatives
