Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the health and well-being of women and their babies throughout pregnancy, labour, and after-birth
- Lead and organize deliveries at both medical facilities and within the community
- Carefully manage any complex issues during pregnancy and delivery, ensuring the health and safety of both mother and child
- Supply basic care services to women of childbearing age, as well as essential infant care, including newborn treatment, family visits and other procedures as needed
- Guide and provide counseling to women and their families on crucial health matters
- Offer different non-surgical methods as well as guidance on permanent methods about ways of family planning
- As needed, get professional guidance (consultation or referral) and assist women until the referral level
- Pass on abilities and knowledge to students studying midwifery, medicine and nursing teams during the management phase of pregnancy and delivery
- Carry out administrative tasks, such as creating patient charts, record data, and manage clinics, and also organize educational programs or activities
- Join in research projects, professional organizations, and committees related to the field
- Abide by established health center policies and all appropriate procedures, quality improvement, safety, and health guidelines
