Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide reception services at all inpatient and daycare floors
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care
  • Receive patients from the admission office
  • Provide administrative support for OSR referrals during admission
  • Coordinate with diagnostic, clinical, nursing, and support departments
  • Order meals for patients
  • Facilitate the discharge process
  • Perform other related clerical tasks
  • Answer phone calls promptly and accurately
  • Coordinate with the admission office regarding bed status and discharges
  • Receive patients in wards/units and ensure patient identification
  • Check physically admitted patients with bed-wise information on HMIS
  • Generate food requisitions for admitted patients
  • Report security issues to supervisors
  • Facilitate outside investigation requests
  • Send outside investigations, images, and reports to EMR
  • Schedule appointments for post-discharge follow-ups
  • Maintain records of admissions, discharges, short leaves, and transfers
  • Manage performance of assigned porters
  • Coordinate with diagnostic services for patient investigations and transportation
  • Report all issues and incidents during the shift to the immediate supervisor
  • Perform proper handing and taking over at the end of every shift
  • Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, procedures, and service excellence standards
