Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage shift staff, re-allocating tasks based on patient acuity and workload
• Ensure staff allocation is completed accurately in logbooks and whiteboards

• Coordinate with previous shift supervisors for handover reports
• Conduct daily morning briefings with staff to discuss concerns
• Ensure staff compliance with duty hours, uniforms, attendance, and punctuality
• Ensure healthcare workers exhibit professional behavior towards patients, attendants, and colleagues
• Prepare wards for physician rounds, ensuring patient beds and surroundings are ready
• Ensure bed-to-bed patient handover is practiced in all shifts and documented
• Conduct regular checks of ward/area inventory and crash carts
• Ensure assigned staff are aware of patient care needs, hygiene, and dress changes
• Accompany physicians during rounds with the area in charge and assigned staff

• Inform Nursing Management of any special needs of the ward under supervision
• Conduct random rounds with staff to observe patient care and overall management
• Ensure completion and review of patients' initial assessments and care plans
• Monitor fresh vital signs, height, and weight of new admissions and document in patient records
• Ensure provision of hygiene care as per patients' individual needs and documentation
• Ensure each patient's vital signs, height, and weight are checked and documented as per policy
• Ensure exact calculation of intake and output, drainage, and documentation in patient records
• Ensure prescribed investigations of the patient are completed
