- Periodically review and recommend revisions to department policies and procedures

- Implement Ward Teaching Program and participate in staff development
- Counsel and guide all nursing staff

- Ensure proper patient handovers and ward inventory management
- Review reports from Nursing Shift Incharge and report incidents
- Keep Nursing Manager informed of ward needs

- Perform hygiene care, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring
- Maintain I.O.
- Charts, conduct investigations, and manage I/V lines
- Perform wound dressing and maintain inventories
- Monitor biomedical equipment and supply availability
- Communicate with consultants regarding patient care
- Perform tasks during staff shortages and emergencies
- Perform all tasks assigned by supervisor/head of department
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all supervised nursing staff comply with established policies and procedures
- Monitor staff discipline, including uniforms, attendance, punctuality, and overall performance
- Periodically review department policies, procedures, and job descriptions, recommending revisions as needed
- Report incidents to senior management as necessary
- Monitor the consumption of medication and general store items
- Assign staff duties, create nursing staff duty rosters, and optimize staff utilization to avoid overtime
- Implement the Ward Teaching Program (CBO) for nursing staff in coordination with Nursing Education Services
- Participate in clinical teaching and staff development of nursing staff
- Counsel and guide all nursing staff
- Conduct regular rounds and escort special visitors on hospital rounds
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the efficient working of wards (maintenance, billing, etc.)
- Ensure proper handovers of patients (bed to bed) and ward inventory in every shift
- Conduct random checks and report discrepancies to management
- Review reports from the Nursing Shift Incharge of evening and night shifts
- Report all incidents to management
- Keep the Nursing Manager informed of any special needs of the ward under their charge
- Supervise day-to-day nursing activities of the nursing staff in accordance with current guidelines and regulations of TIH
- Continually observe the general condition of patients and supervise bed-to-bed patient care
- Monitor patients and ensure proper documentation is maintained and recorded on the system
- Monitor staff to perform hygiene care, medication administration, and vital sign documentation
- Oversee maintenance of I.O.
- Charts, investigations, I/V line and cannula care, and dressing wounds
- Ensure inventories are maintained and indents are made
- Monitor the proper functioning of biomedical equipment and availability of supplies
- Coordinate and communicate with consultants or medical officers related to patient care issues
- Perform all tasks of staff at times of shortage of resources and in emergency situations
- Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor / head of department
