Skills

• In-depth technical knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL Server, Exadata, and SAP BASIS/HANA architectures
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning, capacity planning, back-up & recovery, and disaster recovery management
• Solid knowledge of AIX and Linux systems administration
• Proven skills in team leadership, resource planning and vendor management
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong communication, documentation and coordination skills
• Well-versed in cybersecurity standards, data integrity and compliance requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Database Administration Wing, ensuring efficient operations and optimal performance of all database and platform systems
• Design, implement, and oversee SQL and Oracle database environments, ensuring data availability, security, integrity, and scalability
• Manage and maintain Oracle Exadata engineered systems, ensuring high performance, regular patching, and capacity optimization
• Plan and oversee database back-up, recovery and disaster recovery mechanisms in line with the Bank's Business Continuity and IT DR policies
• Ensure effective SAP BASIS/HANA administration and management, including system monitoring, performance tuning, upgrades and transport management
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Database, Exadata, and SAP BASIS/HANA operations
• Monitor and ensure compliance with security baselines, audit recommendations and regulatory requirements related to data management
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of audit responses and coordinate with internal, external, and regulatory audit teams for effective closure of audit observations pertaining to the Database Administration Wing
• Ensure prompt resolution of incidents, problems and service requests related to database and platform infrastructure
• Plan and execute patch management, version upgrades and system hardening activities for databases and operating systems
• Collaborate with application, security and infrastructure teams for capacity planning, performance optimization and system integration
• Prepare and present regular reports on system health, performance, incidents and capacity utilization to the Divisional Head
• Ensure effective coordination with vendors and OEMs for support cases, licensing, upgrades and issue resolution
• Mentor and enhance the technical capabilities of team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Support audit, compliance and governance processes ensuring timely closure of related observations
• Contribute to infrastructure strategy, budget planning and resource optimization for the department
• Perform any other assignment as assigned by the supervisor(s)
