- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients across various units
- Develop and implement treatment plans under supervision
- Perform clinical procedures within scope of training
- Participate in ward rounds and ensure accurate documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and code blue situations
- Escalate complex cases to Consultants
- Provide on-call coverage as per duty roster
- Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals
- Coordinate with nursing and allied health teams
- Counsel patients and families, obtain informed consent
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatments
- Ensure allocation of appropriate time and resources for patient care
- Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital guidelines
- Participate in clinical audits and morbidity/mortality meetings
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
- Engage with teams to facilitate high quality and improve patient experience
- Ensure compliance with care standards and regulatory authorities
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and attendants
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients
- Respect dignity, cultural, religious, and social sensitivities
- Participate in CME, research initiatives, and case presentations
- Receive ongoing training for essential certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, ATLS)
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional growth
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty units
- Propose a diagnosis based on history, examination, laboratory, and imaging data
- Develop and implement treatment plans under Consultant supervision
- Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training, specialty, and credentialing
- Participate in ward rounds and case discussions, ensuring timely and accurate patient documentation
- Respond to medical emergencies and code blue situations, escalating complex cases to Consultants
- Provide on-call coverage as per the duty roster
- Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals when required
- Coordinate with nursing and allied health teams for patient care and continuity of treatment
- Counsel patients and their families, obtaining informed consent for treatment
- Monitor patients' progress and modify treatments as their conditions evolve
- Ensure the allocation of appropriate time and resources for all patient care processes and procedures
- Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital clinical guidelines and SOPs
- Participate in clinical audits and morbidity and mortality meetings
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
- Engage with other teams to facilitate high quality and improve patient experience
- Ensure all patient care is delivered in compliance with the standards of care set by IHHN, provincial, and national regulatory authorities
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and attendants in both verbal and written form
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients
- Ensure respect for the dignity, cultural, religious, and social sensitivities of patients under care
- Perform any other task assigned by the Head of Department commensurate with knowledge and skills
