Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during duty hours
• Evaluate admitted patients by taking history and performing physical examinations
• Document patient progress and events in the HMIS system
• Undertake ward rounds daily and document patient progress
• Seek advice from senior team members for patient health concerns
• Receive handover reports and attend ward areas promptly
• Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
• Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries as per competency
• Assess and manage patients in the ER
• Undertake medical procedures as advised by the Consultant
• Liaise with nursing staff regularly regarding patient progress
• Discuss medication on discharge and write discharge summaries
• Provide urgent medical attention to staff or visitors in case of accident or illness
• Remain on hospital premises whilst on duty to ensure continuous cover
