Medical Officer - Orthopedics at Indus Hospital & Health Network
We have an immediate opening for the post of Medical Officer - Orthopedics.

- Highlight consultant orders verbally and in writing
- Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during duty hours
- Work collaboratively to ensure 24-hour hospital service
- Evaluate admitted patients with comprehensive history and physical examination
- Document patient information accurately in HMIS
- Conduct daily ward rounds, including morning, evening, and night shifts
- Record patient progress and events in HMIS
- Seek advice from senior team members for patient health concerns
- Receive handover reports from alternative RMO/SMO
- Attend ward areas promptly at the start of duty shifts
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries (including vacuum) as per competency
- Assess and manage patients in the Emergency Room
- Liaise with nursing staff regularly regarding patient progress
- See patients at the request of nurses in charge
- Discuss medication on discharge with patients
- Write discharge summaries
- Maintain patient medical information confidentiality
- Provide urgent medical attention in case of accidents or sudden illness
- Remain on hospital premises whilst on duty
- Ensure continuous cover until a replacement is found if RMO/SMO is absent
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, especially Health and Safety
- Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and families
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical care to orthopedic patients
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings
- Manage patient care during routine and emergency situations
- Collaborate with consultants and senior medical staff
- Perform necessary medical procedures within the defined scope of practice
- Ensure continuity of care through effective handover and communication
- Participate in ward rounds and patient monitoring
- Contribute to the 24-hour hospital service
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate treatment
- Ensure effective communication and relationships with all stakeholders
