Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency medical cover during scheduled hours, working collaboratively with other team members
- Evaluate patients admitted to the ward by taking detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations, documenting all findings in the HMIS system
- Conduct morning, evening, and night ward rounds daily, and if possible, with a member of the nursing staff
- Record patient progress, events, and other examinations in the HMIS system
- Seek guidance from senior team members when needed
- Receive and review handover reports from the alternative RMO/SMO and attend the ward areas shortly after beginning the shift
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for admitted patients
- Manage laboring patients and perform vaginal deliveries, including vacuum deliveries
- Assess and manage patients in the ER, ensuring complicated cases are assessed by specialists
- Perform specific medical procedures as directed by the Consultant
- Liaise with nursing staff regularly to monitor patient progress or more constantly as needed
- Discuss medications with patients upon discharge and complete discharge summaries
- Maintain patient medical information confidentiality
- Provide urgent medical treatment to staff or visitors in case of accidents or sudden illnesses
