Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for all age groups, including refraction and cycloplegic refraction
- Perform low vision assessments and prescribe appropriate low-vision aids
- Prescribe and fit both hard and soft contact lenses
- Conduct advanced visual function assessments, such as binocular vision and accommodation tests
- Detect, diagnose, and refer ocular diseases and abnormalities to ophthalmologists or specialists
- Proficiently utilize slit lamp bio-microscopy and applanation tonometry
- Ensure accurate patient record management and strict adherence to clinical protocols
- Maintain compliance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety guidelines
- Provide thorough counseling on eye conditions, spectacle use, and necessary follow-up care
- Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses, and low vision aids
- Offer pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery
- Participate actively in school screening and community-based eye screening programs
- Collaborate effectively with Social Organizers to ensure efficient team functioning and community mobilization
- Provide training and capacity building to LHVs, LHWs, and basic project staff on vision testing and eye health promotion
- Support awareness activities promoting healthy eye signs and effective eye health practices
- Serve as a cooperative and active team member during field and outreach operations
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical and screening records
- Assist in data collection, entry, organization, and basic analysis as per project requirements
- Uphold data confidentiality and adhere to ethical handling practices
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc activity reports to the Project Manager
- Contribute data for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes
