• BLS/ACLS certification
• Experience in critical care unit with ventilator management
• Skill in airway management and intubation
• Skill in inserting central lines and/or arterial lines
• Ability to work in shifts
• Proficiency in patient documentation using HMIS
• Ability to coordinate with different specialties
• Attentiveness and ability to manage emergencies
• Strict adherence to SOPs for patient management and infection control
• Ability to counsel patients and their next of kin
• Respect for patient rights
• Continuous improvement of knowledge and skills through CME sessions and workshops

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assigned patients in Critical Care Medicine Department (MICU/HDU) in shifts
• Look after critically ill patients in the assigned area of MICU/HDU
• Take patient history and examine in detail
• Implement discussed treatment plans with Registrar/Consultant in a timely manner
• Document patient information in HMIS
• Request blood investigations and imaging, expediting their reports
• Take urgent appropriate action after consultation with Registrar/Consultant on Call
• Insert Central Line, arterial line and apply NIV independently
• Perform intubation and maintain airway under supervision
• Supervise Medical Officers and nursing staff if needed
• Attend and present cases in daily rounds
• Coordinate with different specialties regarding their patients
• Timely update medical teams about any change in patient status
• Attend to and manage emergencies of MICU/MHDU patients
• Communicate with on-call personnel and follow instructions
• Strictly follow Critical Care Medicine department and Indus Hospital (IHHN) SOPs
• Take and give proper handover of patients on bedside to the next shift doctor
• Counsel patients/next of kin and take consent
• Respect patient rights and update if condition deteriorates
• Follow Indus Hospital dress code, rules, rights, regulations, and guidelines
• Continue to improve knowledge and skills by attending CME sessions, workshops, etc
