Skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper handover and takeover of duties with detailed notes
• Timely dispensing and distribution of medications, ensuring patient profiles and CPOE for rational drug use
• Prevent drug interactions and promote rational drug use
• Contact physicians for medication order inaccuracies and document interventions
• Manage medication stock levels and prepare departmental requisitions
• Receive supplies from the warehouse, verifying batch, expiry, quantity, and packaging
• Properly store sensitive, cytotoxic, high alert, and look-alike/sound-alike drugs
• Counsel patients at OPD pharmacy and respond to their queries
• For oncology/cytotoxic stations: prepare patient protocols, double-check orders, and counter-sign drug preparations
• Hand over chemotherapy drugs to nursing for administration and document any unadministered drugs
