Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive anesthesia plans for various surgical procedures
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and consultations with patients and surgical teams
  • Administer anesthetics to induce and maintain a state of controlled unconsciousness and pain relief during surgery
  • Monitor and manage patient's vital life functions throughout the surgical procedure
  • Manage the patient's airway and ensure adequate oxygenation and ventilation
  • Provide post-acute and chronic pain relief using various pharmacological and interventional approaches
  • Perform pain-relieving procedures and prescribe medication to manage pain levels
  • Counsel patients and their families on pain management strategies
  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
  • Deliver advanced life support, including cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation
  • Manage the recovery of patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and surgical ward
  • Consult patients and their families and obtain informed consent for treatment
  • Monitor patient's progress and modify treatments as conditions evolve
  • Perform procedures within the limits of credentialing granted by the IHN
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients
  • Ensure respect for dignity, cultural, religious, and social sensitivities
  • Ensure all patient care is delivered in compliance with IHN standards and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure the quality and safety of all patient care interventions and efficient utilization of resources
