- Responsible for patient care handover and takeover
- Provide direct patient care
- Adhere to therapeutic standards and measure health outcomes
- Resolve patient problems using multi-disciplinary strategies
- Prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment

- Facilitate doctors during rounds and record instructions
- Assist doctors with procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care
- Carry out doctors' orders and question concerns
- Ensure medical supply requirements are well stocked
- Draw blood and perform other lab procedures
- Perform IV cannulation
- Perform delegated patient and non-patient related tasks
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handover and takeover incoming/outgoing shift unit/ward information related to patients, including introductions, patient files, medication charts, investigation reports, intake and output charts
- Provide direct patient care throughout the shift in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner
- Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, and making or recommending necessary adjustments
- Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multi-disciplinary team strategies
- Prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies & protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Facilitate doctors/consultants on their rounds in the unit/ward and record instructions
- Assist doctors with any procedure they may need to perform, preparing the patient physically and emotionally and ensuring the availability of all necessary equipment
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and use correct charting techniques as per Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Carry out the doctorsβ orders as prescribed, questioning any concern with prescribed treatment
- Ensure the unit/ward medical supply requirements are well stocked, properly stored, and readily available
- Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
- Perform IV cannulation of patients, following the Clinical IPPs policy manual
- Perform delegated patient & non-patient related tasks as directed by the Ward Incharge, Nursing Coordinator
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Head of the Department
