Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage handover and takeover of patient information during shift changes
• Provide direct patient care throughout the shift with courtesy and tact
• Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and patient care goals
• Resolve patient problems and needs through multidisciplinary team strategies
• Prepare medication requisitions and administer medications accurately
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and medication protocols
• Facilitate doctors and consultants during rounds and record instructions
• Assist doctors with procedures, preparing patients physically and emotionally
• Carry out doctors' orders and question any concerns with prescribed treatment
• Ensure medical supply requirements are well-stocked and readily available
• Check and record blood sugar levels
• Draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
• Check and record vital signs, especially for pre-operative and post-operative patients
• Perform IV cannulations following the Clinical IPPs policy manual
• Notify and report incidents related to patients, staff, or visitors in a timely manner
• Supervise Nurse Aids and Student Nurses
