Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report on shift duties in time according to schedule and check units
• Check each unit's inventory and report any issues to the supervisor
• Begin patient handovers, monitoring documentation, medication, and investigations
• Discuss and document pending tasks for the incoming shift
• Document interventions and any concerns in the patient record
• Assess patients and provide care, pain relief, and risk prevention education
• Evaluate patient condition after each intervention
• Involve the multidisciplinary team when consultations are needed
• Monitor material consumption and supplies to the pharmacy
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Protect patients by adhering to infection control and safe medication practices
• Maintain patient privacy during hygiene care or examinations
• Keep patient records confidential
• Assist physicians during rounds, noting orders
• Assist doctors with procedures in the procedure room or unit
• Prepare patients for surgery as per pre-operative orders
• Follow post-operative orders and observe for changes in vital signs
• Report incidents/near misses as required
• Guide new staff in IHHN policies and practices
• Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor
