  • Responsible for handover & takeover of incoming/outgoing shift unit/ward information related to patients
  • Responsible to provide direct patient care throughout the shift
  • Responsible for assuring the quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
  • Responsible to resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Responsible to prepare medication requisitions and administer medication
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Responsible to protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies & protocols
  • Responsible to facilitate doctors/consultants on their rounds
  • Responsible to assist doctors with any procedure
  • Responsible to carry out the doctors’ orders as prescribed
  • Responsible to ensure the unit/ward medical supply requirements are well stocked
  • Responsible to check and record blood sugar
  • Responsible to draw blood and perform other lab procedures on patients
  • Responsible to check and record vital signs
  • Responsible to perform IV cannulations of patients
  • Responsible to notify/reporting incidents related to patients, staff, visitors, and any untoward occurrences
  • Responsible to supervise Nurse Aids, Student Nurses, etc

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care throughout the shift
  • Manage patient information and files
  • Administer medications accurately
  • Monitor patient vital signs and blood sugar levels
  • Perform IV cannulations and other lab procedures
  • Maintain a safe and sterile working environment
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Assist doctors during rounds and procedures
  • Manage medical supply inventory
  • Report incidents and untoward occurrences promptly
  • Supervise junior nursing staff and students
