Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handover and take over shift information, including patient introductions, files, and charts
• Provide direct patient care in a calm and courteous manner
• Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and adjusting care as needed
• Resolve patient issues using multi-disciplinary team strategies
• Prepare and administer medications
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Adhere to infection-control policies and procedures
• Facilitate doctors' rounds and record instructions
• Assist doctors with any required procedures, preparing patients physically and emotionally
• Maintain accurate and complete nursing care documentation
• Implement doctors’ orders and address any treatment concerns
• Ensure adequate medical supply stock
• Check and record blood sugar
• Draw blood and perform other lab procedures
• Monitor and record vital signs
• Perform IV cannulation
• Report incidents in a timely manner
• Supervise Nurse Aids and Student Nurses
• Perform assigned patient and non-patient tasks
• Carry out additional duties as directed by supervisors
