Skills

• Proficiency in performing hematological analysis of blood and body fluids
• Ability to ensure accuracy of test results
• Skill in operating and calibrating hematology analyzers
• Experience with daily quality control (QC) and external quality assurance (EQA)
• Capability to perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Inventory management and stock control skills
• Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform hematological analysis of blood, body fluids, CSF, and special tests
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all test results
• Repeat or reject samples according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Store abnormal samples appropriately for future reference
• Issue accurate and timely reports to consultants
• Communicate critical results promptly to relevant medical staff
• Calibrate and operate hematology analyzers efficiently
• Run daily QC and EQA, including LJ chart review and interpretation
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain accurate logs for equipment usage, maintenance, and QC
• Coordinate with biomedical engineers and suppliers for equipment troubleshooting
• Monitor inventory consumption and maintain adequate stock levels
• Manage indents for laboratory supplies and reagents
• Maintain QC and audit data meticulously
• Support audit preparation by ensuring all documentation is in order
• Ensure proper sample storage and handling procedures are followed
