Shariah Scholar (OG-I / AVP / AV P): Requires at least four (4) years of experience in giving Shariah rulings, including Takhassus fil Ifta, or five (5) years post-qualification experience in teaching or Research and Development in Islamic Banking and Finance. Preference will be given to candidates holding a certificate in Takhassus fil Fiqh/Takhassus fil Ifta.
Shariah Scholar/Product & Policy Management (OG-I / AVP / AV P): Similar experience requirements as above.

Skills

Strong understanding of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review all the products proposals and related documents, agreements, contracts, manuals, process flows, checklists and forward to Shariah Board
Research and analysis on Shariah issues under the guidance of the State Bank
Prepare responses to Shariah related queries of the bank's clients regarding bank's products and services after discussion with relevant stakeholders and submit the same to RSBM for his advice / review / confirmation
Ensure compliance / rectifications of the comments / corrective actions directed by Shariah Board/RSBM over Shariah Compliance Review Reports and SBP's Shariah Compliance Inspection Reports
Any other task assigned by the management
